| Our History of Giving
When the doors to Sinai Hospital closed, many of us saw it as the end of an era. More than just a medical facility to members of our community, Sinai was a hospital wrapped in tradition.
Much of that feeling was created by The Sinai Guild's devoted volunteers whose warmth and compassion helped make Sinai Hospital what it was. This commitment by our mothers and grandmothers was passed on through the generations, as they volunteered everywhere from waiting rooms to intensive care, then saw their daughters continue their tireless efforts. Years later, these women became the driving force behind fundraising efforts that would aid in essential, lifesaving research.
For these women, care giving is a legacy. One that even Sinai’s closing couldn’t stop.
While we no longer have a hospital as our home base, The Sinai Guild remains a driving force in health care. From our home at the Weisberg Cancer Treatment Center in Farmington Hills, the Guild works tirelessly to identify current needs and important research that will make a difference in the lives of generations to come. We are grateful for our volunteers—many of whom can still be found holding the hand of a worried patient or family member at any of DMC’s satellite centers. We are also proud of our fundraising efforts that have touched our community. Here are just a few: |

Our Support
The Sinai Guild continues a proud legacy of fundraising and support to Detroit’s medical community. Since our early days at Detroit’s Sinai Hospital, we have given millions of dollars to organizations and institutions in need. Every year requests are submitted and evaluated, and the grant awards are made in December.
